We are living in the golden age of neuroscience. We have learned more about the brain in the last 20 years than in all of human history. These discoveries provide the opportunity to develop effective treatments now.
Cognitive rehabilitation therapy is one of those treatments that has benefited from the insights of the past couple decades. It wasn't that long ago that adult neuroplasticity, or the brain's ability to change and adapt throughout life and even after injury, was widely accepted in the scientific community.
More people at risk for dementia should be aware of and receive cognitive rehabilitation therapy. At Moneta, the company name is inspired by the Roman goddess of memory of the same name, we feel a deep sense of purpose in delivering therapy that improves brain function and quality of life.
We are building therapy services with the goal of having them be widely available, convenient and easy to use for all who need them, regardless of whether they live in an urban or rural area. It’s the reason our service is delivered at home and accessed by a regular telephone.
Women and Black Americans are twice as likely to develop Alzheimer’s disease than men and other demographic populations. We are focused on these health disparities and remain committed to serve all populations in need.
Cognitive decline is scary. It affects not only the individual but the whole family and circle of care. The individual at the center is often vulnerable and needs to be respected, recognized and valued.
We are proud of the diverse, multi-disciplinary, multi-generational team we’re building at Moneta Health. The combined skills and experiences are critical to making a positive impact.
